The London Institute of Banking & Finance is a specialist institution, teaching less than 5,000 students at their campus building in central London. This means you’ll work very closely with your lecturers who are highly flexible in their teaching.

LIBF's degree programmes are part of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Programme, meaning that their courses are approved to industry standards.
You’ll also be able to work towards your chartered status while studying at LIBF, which is the highest level of professional recognition in banking and finance!
This is a specialist programme that will equip you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to enter the world of financial services and markets.
In each year of your degree, you will cover a foundation of subjects necessary to working in banking and finance. In Year 3 you will be able to elevate your knowledge by covering themes such as strategy, management and risk.
This specialist degree programme will give you a sound understanding of financial decision-making, covering the core elements of investment, financial analysis, and risk management. A blended approach of theory and practical-based teaching is also at the core of this programme.
Ethics and professional standards will be a fundamental part of this degree at every stage.
Both programmes at LIBF have some shared modules, providing the foundational knowledge you’ll need, whatever banking or financial career you wish to follow.
All modules in Year 1 are shared and include all the basics you need in Economics, Finance and Banking.
Year 2 shared modules include: Emerging Markets; Financial Accounting; and Fintech.
Year 3 shared modules include: Corporate strategy; International Finance; and the Capstone independent research project.
Your modules in Years 2 and 3 will shape your specialisation in whichever degree programme you choose.

Year 3: Bank Risk Management & Regulation; and Bank Strategy & Management.

Year 3: Equity Investment; and Fixed Income & Credit Risk.
At LIBF you’ll have a variety of assessment types - you won’t just be writing never-ending essays! The varied assignments are designed to bring out the skills you’ll need in the workplace.
Alongside exams in varying lengths of answer, and traditional essays, you’ll be tasked with assignments including: blogs, case studies, reports, forum discussions, portfolios and group projects.
Both undergraduate programmes offer an optional year’s industry placement if you want to elevate your skills with real industry experience and start building your professional network.
Remember that when applying through UCAS, there’s a separate course code for the industry year option for both courses!
