It’s well connected to the likes of Newcastle upon Tyne and so offers a classic mix of excitement and relaxation. A truly memorable place!

As we know Durham is a collegiate university which means there is no main campus as such. Everything you need is in your college community. Really get stuck into college life by attending their formals and events that usually have a theme (Harry Potter is mentioned).

Durham Students’ Union

DSU is an independent charity governed by a board of trustees. Their purpose is to ‘be the champion of every Durham student’ - they’re in the midst of an ambitious 4-year plan that puts Durham students at the heart of everything they do. They host events, groups, societies as well as food, drink, and entertainment.

Did you know that every college has its own bar? That's in addition to the SU and local pubs and clubs. Even more, Newcastle is just 12 minutes away by train meaning there’s never a dull moment!

Counselling & Mental Health

Durham’s counselling and mental health services offer both in person and virtual (Teams/ Zoom) sessions. You can self-refer at any time and all it takes is completing an online form.

Durham is a collegiate university which means that whatever college you’re enrolled to - they will provide you with your accommodation for your entire stay! While you may be able to highlight a preference, ultimately you won’t have too much choice when it comes to your college.
