Its American Studies course is 8th in the country, and Tourism, Transport, Travel & Heritage Studies comes in 7th (Complete Uni Guide 2023)!
The Uni of Essex actually comprises of 3 campuses - the main one being at Colchester (Britain’s oldest recorded town). Southend-on-sea and Loughton house the other two, and they’re all nestled into the county of Essex!
Essex is a vibrant county, home to a quirky mix of modern and traditional towns and villages. Chelmsford is Essex’s first (and only!) city, which is bustling with shops and restaurants all year round.
Essex also has one of the longest coastlines in England. Mersea, an island (linked to the mainland by the Strood) is world-famous for its oysters and shellfish.
The Uni of Essex is one of the most international unis in the world. With almost 140 countries represented within its student population, they’re eager to attract leading academics from across the globe!

Essex is committed to its net-zero carbon by 2035 target and has already cut emissions by a massive 28% since 2005!
